Results achieved

  • A reviewed set of programmes was developed and adopted by the Council of Ministers in 2011, including a new Productive Safety Nets Programme.

  • Programme extends social assistance income support to groups of the working-age population that have so far been excluded, such as poor households with at least one able-bodied adult, through a seasonal cashtransfer associated with the participation in Public Works (National Productive Social Action Programme) and households temporarily without members able to work.

  • Social partners define a policy position paper regarding a Mozambican Social Protection Floor that included the analysis of the new Programmes (particularly the non-contributory programmes included in the new National Basic Social Security Strategy).
