Following development of the integrated framework for basic social protection programs implementation plan the project with co-financing from the United Nations Joint programme on social protection Phase II is supporting dissemination and operationalization of the IFBSPP implementation plan. The implementation plan is being used as a tool to enhance planning for integration of social protection programs through the single windows and cash plus initiatives at district levels. Reports from progress monitoring of the single windows initiative have indicated good progress in improving efficiency and access in delivery of social protection programs at district levels and among beneficiary communities. Through the Technical Advisor – Social Security and National project Coordinator the project has continued providing support to the 7NDP cluster on poverty, vulnerability and inequality reduction

The National Technical Working Group on Extension of Social Protection has validated the national strategy on extension of social protection to the informal economy. The draft strategy has been submitted to government for clearance. The national strategy once adopted will guide framework for implementation of national strategies on extension of social protection to the informal economy including taking account shock responsive mechanisms.
